Call It Love Ending Explained
Does Call It Love have a happy ending?
Call It Love ends on a happy note with the Shims getting their house back, Woo-joo and Dong-jin together, and Yoon Joon and Hye-seong engaged.
What Happened to Woo-joo?
Woo Joo speaks with Hee-ja and decides to let go of her anger at Hee-ja and forgive her. She agrees to sign the non-punishment letter and even wishes her well.
One year later, Woo-joo has a full-time job at another fair company and enjoys her new job. She still has feelings for Dong-jin, visiting places that remind her of him.
What Happened to Dong-jin?
Dong-jin helps Woo-joo get her house back by giving her her father’s will.
He quits his job at Best Fairs, using his company shares and severance to pay back the buyers’ downpayment on the house.
After Dong-jin and Woo-joo break up, he leaves Seoul.
One year later, Dong-jin is happily driving through the countryside in his campervan. He goes camping every week.
Dong-jin still has feelings for Woo-joo and every time he visits Seoul, he goes to the same restaurant he and Woo-joo used to go to together.
Do Woo-joo and Dong-jin End Up Together?
Woo-joo and Dong-jin decide to break up after he helps her get the house back.
One year later, Woo-joo and Dong-jin are reunited at Ji-gu’s performance.
Call It Love ends with Woo-joo and Dong-jin’s eyes meeting across the crowd. They smile at one another and the drama ends with Woo-joo happily running toward Dong-jin.
Do The Shim Siblings Get Their House Back?
The three siblings get their house back after Dong-jin gives Woo-joo her father’s will.
The will reveals that Woo-joo’s father left the house for Hye-seong, the eldest sibling. The siblings move out of Joon’s house and back into their home.
One year later, the three siblings are still living together in their childhood home.
What Happened to Hee-ja?
Although the Shim siblings decide not to file a report against Hee-ja, she is reported to the police for hiding her husband’s will by her ex-boyfriend. She subsequently leaves the Shims’ house and moves in with Dong-jin.
She tries to contact the Shim family through Woo-joo’s aunt to get a non-punishment letter in order to avoid jail time.
Woo-joo agrees to meet with her and the two have a drink together. Their conversation ends with Hee-ja receiving forgiveness from Woo-joo for everything and the two wishing each other well. Woo-joo also agrees to send her the non-punishment letter.
After the time jump, Hee-ja is not shown so it’s unclear if she managed to avoid jail.
What Happened to Yoon Joon?
Amidst all the chaos with the house and the will, Yoon Joon finally confesses his feelings to Hye-seong.
One year later, Joon is still working at the pharmacy.
What Happened to Hye-seong?
One year later, Hye-seong is still working at the bank. One of her colleagues is getting married and they go out for a meal to celebrate.
Hae-sung tells her colleague she’s unsure if she wants to get married.
Do Yoon Joon and Hye-seong End Up Together?
One year later, Yoon Joon and Hye-seong are happily dating. Yoon Joon even has a photo of them as his lock screen so you know it’s Serious.
Despite expressing his desire never to get married in the past, Yoon Joon casually proposes to Hye-seong and tells her he wants her to move in with him.
Hye-seong accepts Yoon Joon’s proposal.
What Happened to Ji-gu?
One year later, Ji-gu is living with his sisters in their old house. He is revealed to have kept in touch with Dong-jin through text messages.
Ji-gu plays matchmaker inviting both Dong-jin and Woo-joo to watch his performance in the hopes they’ll reconnect.
Call It Love Ending Review
I adore Woo-joo and Dong-jin and am glad they ended up together.
Time jumps are a kdrama staple but I really don’t think Call It Love needed one. Before the time jump, I actually thought both Woo-joo and Dong-jin were in a good place in their respective healing journeys. Their relationship also felt strong.
So, their break-up felt a bit forced to me.
And as cute as the ending scene is, I was frustrated that their happy reunion happened at the very end.
I wish it happened earlier so we could see the couple speak to one another after a year apart—maybe even a kiss or two.
At least they ended up together! I am very happy about that.
